Pictures of Grand Park City Hall

This is what the exterior of the hotel looks like. Located on Coleman Street, the area is rich in Singapore history, dating back to over 150 years when George Coleman (Singapore's first architect and advisor to Sir Raffles) himself lived. The courtyard of the hotel leading into the ground floor restaurant, Indulge, is probably the historic portion that has been integrated into the design of the newer hotel building. The hotel reception/lounge area is dominated by a skylight that lets in natural light and highlights the light brown marble that covers both the floor and wall surfaces. There are some famous eateries here including Indulge and Park Palace restaurant. There is also a water feature here where some couples may choose to have outdoor solemnizations.

The Grand Ballroom is quite nice, a selling point would be the newly completed renovation only a few weeks ago. Click here to read my earlier comments on the hotel and ballroom. Unfortunately, there's a maximum capacity of about only 300 people, ie. 30 tables. So we'll sadly have to trim down our guest-list for the dinner itself, and hope our friends don't mind joining in our celebration only at the Mass at Church. The pictures here were taken during our little sneak preview and during the wedding show that was held the Saturday after we signed with GPCH (we inked the deal on 01/10/10 - Children's Day!).

Tours were conducted of the 2 rooms on display today - The Governor's Suite and the Oriental Suite. Both types have their own perks, although if I had a choice, I'd like to mix the Oriental Suite's decor with the Governor's Suite's space and outdoor jacuzzi. According to the guide, there are 7 suites in total, but all suites are subject to availability on checking-in.

We got to sample the food during the show, and we agree with the online comments - the Wasabi Prawns are fantastic! Succulent with an excellent batter. Furthermore, we were 1 of the 10 winners of a lucky draw prize! Considering the excellent package and the perks we've received so far, we're REALLY glad we went with this hotel!
